Status Levels
When the 20 day chart is completed, students earn an official status for the month which becomes part of their cumulative status for the year. This status is determined solely by student performance on the chart.
The following process shows the method used to determine a 20 day status. There are 8 charts in a SHAPE year.
This process should be kept in an available place in the SHAPE room so that students may refer to it as needed as the school year progresses. Students need to become actively involved in the process of school improvement. By working this process, school improvement becomes a reality.
N.B.
Once a student exceeds 12 absences in a semester, she should be able to attain no higher than a Level 3 on any chart for the rest of semester unless administration or guidance can determine that there is good reason for the absence.
If a student is asked to withdraw from a class for behavioral reasons any time during the year, she can attain a maximum Level 3 for the remainder of the year.
