SHAPE serves as an initiatory process of transition from adolescence to adulthood. The process of transition is much more than simply transitioning into a career. It consists of the need for students to demonstrate a sense of purpose, an ability to accept and navigate emotions, and a consciousness of what it means to be an adult and how one needs to proceed to be recognized as a grown human being.
This must be a leap to a palpable adulthood with rigorous emotional, cognitive, and experiential obstacles a teenager must traverse.
